The strategic partnership between the two social network giants LinkedIn and Twitter has simplified processes and expanded audience base to an unimaginable extent for users. Now it is possible to post as LinkedIn status your tweets automatically or reach Twitter followers through LinkedIn status effortlessly. You can even do both simultaneously.

Joining Twitter and LinkedIn accounts opens the door to numerous opportunities. You can make your LinkedIn profile display your Twitter ID in order to enhance your professional profile.

Sharing between the two networks is a simple process. You can click “Add Twitter account” after visiting “Edit my Profile” in order to add your Twitter account. After you verify the account name and password, you must specify how you want to share your tweets on LinkedIn. Now you have successfully joined your account and can edit if necessary by clicking on the “Edit” button. Set the account as public in order to send tweets to LinkedIn.

It is also possible to have a complete control over the two networks by choosing the updates on LinkedIn status that you want to share. You can also choose the specific tweets you want displayed as status in LinkedIn.

LinkedIn filters that work best with Twitter include the connections with sub-filters, groups with sub-filters and search with filters option. You can identify relevant keywords and also find out those who are Linked “#in” by using http://search.twitter.com.

They were researching forward looking users applications and interfaces. Filters!

Here are some LinkedIn filters I would use in conjunction with Twitter … first my connections (with sub-filters):

Or perhaps my groups (with sub-filters)

Finally, I could use Search with filters (in this case on SEM)

From the Settings page on Twitter, it is possible to share updates on tweets that contain either #li or #in. You can also opt for the option of not sharing particular tweets. On LinkedIn you can find a box near the Twitter icon. From here it is possible to share updates with Twitter. When you use this for the first time, you will be asked to provide your user name and password for verification by Twitter. To filter updates you want to share from LinkedIn in conjunction with Twitter, you can do so with the help of connections and groups sub-filters or use the search with filter option on Twitter.

Twitter and LinkedIn are increasingly used by many both personally as well as professionally. It is possible to share profile; status updates and tweets on both platforms now in order to reach a massive audience base. Effective filtering using filters on LinkedIn that are compatible with Twitter makes it easy for you to contact selective users for particular tweets and status updates.
